⁣At nineteen years old, Nathan Pinto dropped to his knees and asked God to prove that He was a loving and caring God by addressing a series of 10 questions. If God was able to address these questions, Nathan promised to commit the rest of his life to God. As Nathan recalls, the answers came, and Nathan found himself slowly becoming less wild and more holy.

Halfway through college, Nathan jokingly prayed during the last rivalry football game between Texas A&M and the University of Texas that he would finish his education at whichever school won the game. Texas A&M lost on a last-second field goal, and Nathan soon transferred. He is known to be intense.

That intensity thread continues throughout Nathan’s rollercoaster journey of discernment and entrepreneurship that you must hear to believe. Nathan’s story includes launching a startup with his students while teaching at a Jesuit prep school, creating a retail marketplace for goat meat, taking on the payday loan issues, and eventually launching the company that consumes a large part of his current focus, a financial tech company called Credit Mountain.

⁣Peter Blute, head of operations for the Young Catholic Professionals, braves the airwaves once again on this special bonus episode of The BeatiDudes.

As Chief Operating Officer for Young Catholic Professionals (YCP), Peter Blute manages national and chapter operations, expansion efforts, brand and marketing efforts, and volunteer support. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Dallas and then spent two years working in Rome and traveling across Europe as a staff member on UD’s study-abroad campus. After returning to Dallas, he worked in marketing and sales efforts prior to joining the YCP apostolate in 2014 as the non-profit’s second full-time employee.

Fair warning – this show is off the rails when it comes to humor, according to the number of times the BeatiDudes “lose it” in laughter.

Peter and his wife are expecting the birth of their third child later this year which leads to an interesting conversation about the best way to explain children in utero. This turns into an entire deep dive about kids, names, parenting, and a wild ride of generational references.

This fast-growing group helps young adults to recognize and remember that every moment of work can be an act of holiness and prayer. ⁣The BeatiDudes proudly welcome Jonathan J. Sanford, Ph.D., the 10th president of the University of Dallas.

Dr. Sanford, who previously served as provost and dean of UD’s Constantin College of Liberal Arts and holds a doctorate in philosophy, is a noted scholar in virtue ethics. Dr. Sanford has published widely on philosophical figures and topics, especially in foundational questions in moral philosophy, as evidenced in “Before Virtue: Assessing Contemporary Virtue Ethics” (The Catholic University of America Press 2015). As provost, Dr. Sanford oversaw the development of a university-wide strategic plan, and as president, he is focused on leading its implementation by building on the university’s reputation for academic rigor, its commitment to classical Western tradition, and its faithful Catholic identity.

During this episode, Dr. Sanford provides deep insight into the approach to formation and education philosophies of the University of Dallas. He calls upon several key teachings, including St. Pope John Paul II’s “Ex Corde Ecclesiae” and St. John Henry Cardinal Newman’s “The Idea of a University.”

Then on “Blessed are the Joke Makers,” the Dudes square off to finish the statement, “Lord, I need [blank]” as a drill sergeant.

The second half of the show explores Dr. Sanford’s education and career journey. We learn more about the mentors, saints, and materials that formed Dr. Sanford’s love for philosophy and teaching. Dr. Sanford penned several books along the way and then received a call to join the University of Dallas and grew to quickly love the University in a special way.

⁣Brett Attebery is back for a BeatiDudes bonus episode.

The Dudes start off the show by reflecting on hot yoga, thanks to the extreme after-hours heat in their studio. Then Paul is surprised with a set of BeatiDudes luggage tags that may become future swag for fans.

The tone shifts as Brett shares his personal pro-life journey starting with the history he had before finding faith (an admitted ethical pagan) and the mystical experience he had at 38 years old. After that, Brett found his way into the Catholic Church through RCIA, and years later, he realized it was time to deal with the abortion he supported when his girlfriend got pregnant decades earlier.

Brett had heard an ad for a Rachel’s Vineyard retreat on Catholic radio and called to see if men were allowed at these port-abortion healing events. At the event, he had everything planned as to what he would say, but then the Holy Spirit took over, and Brett’s life changed forever.

In adoration later that day, Brett felt called to name his unborn child - - Jesse.

Brett left that retreat a changed man. He went on to start the first pro-life magazine, and in his first issue, he wrote about an organization called Heroic Media. It wasn’t long before Brett was asked to join Heroic Media to run marketing and to keep the magazine going as well.

Today Brett is the CEO of Heroic Media and the author of Your Pro-Life Bottom Line. He often reflects on how God works in our brokenness to make something more beautiful than it was before, and his story is certainly an example of this grace.

⁣Brett Attebery, national pro-life leader, joins the BeatiDudes for an incredible conversation on the need to infuse business principles and practices into the pro-life movement.

Brett is the CEO of Heroic Media and the author of Your Pro-Life Bottom Line.

Their unique approach has led to impressive results as well. Brett also shares an updated approach to the vernacular of the pro-life movement that helps to highlight women’s empowerment in addition to the focus on their pre-born babies. During this week’s “Blessed are the Joke Makers,” the dudes take on the persona of an A.I. robot to complete the sentence, “Jesus performed the miracle of _____, but it was never recorded.”

Brett joins the Dudes to address the TBD (The BeatiDudes) Question of the Day: Who do you go to for spiritual mentorship that is not a priest or religious? And the show concludes with another great Reverse Simpsons, a surprise Brett-Day Celebration Party with a $5 limit on the gifts. ⁣Fr. Ken Geraci lived the life of the prodigal son for most of his young adult life. Raised in a nominally Catholic family, who only lived the externals of the faith, Fr. Ken left the Catholic Church for many years. During that time, he earned a business degree and worked as a business professional in Advanced R&D and software testing. During this journey, God presented him with challenges that forced him to question his personal beliefs and the question, “What is Truth?”


Through a series of conversions, years of struggle, study, and questioning, Fr. Ken found his way from agnosticism to non-denominational Christianity, and ultimately back to the Catholic Church. Fr. Ken joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006 and was ordained in 2012.


Fr. Ken has a great understanding of the personal and societal pressures that individuals face and knows what it is like to “hate coming to church.” His mission talks are for people of all levels of faith, from those who are madly in love with Jesus to those who struggle with church and religion.


In this episode, the BeatiDudes joke with Fr. Ken about the first time he considered the priesthood after it was suggested to him by his date.

⁣Fr. Ken Geraci lived the life of the prodigal son for most of his young adult life. Raised in a nominally Catholic family, who only lived the externals of the faith, Fr. Ken left the Catholic Church for many years.


During that time, he earned a business degree and worked as a business professional in Advanced R&D and software testing. During this journey, God presented him with challenges that forced him to question his personal beliefs and the question, “What is Truth?”


Through a series of conversions, years of struggle, study, and questioning, Fr. Ken found his way from agnosticism to non-denominational Christianity, and ultimately back to the Catholic Church. Fr. Ken joined the Fathers of Mercy in 2006 and was ordained in 2012.


Fr. Ken has a great understanding of the personal and societal pressures that individuals face and knows what it is like to “hate coming to church.” His mission talks are for people of all levels of faith, from those who are madly in love with Jesus to those who struggle with church and religion.


In this episode, Fr. Ken shares the history of his order and discusses the current crisis of manhood. The BeatiDudes joke about Fr. Ken’s understated crucifix before inviting him to judge their comedy woes on “Blessed are the Joke Makers.”


As we follow Fr. Ken through the journey of his life, we come to learn of his spiritual gift of healing. This show ends with a deep reflection on the process of healing, along with a healing exercise that all are welcome to join.
