The Power of the Sacrament of Confession - Sunday Sermons - October 01, 2023
Regina Angelorum Press Inc. is pleased to bring you Sunday Sermons with Father Anthony Pillari.
“The Power of the Sacrament of Confession” – October 1, 2023 - Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost
1 Cor. :4- 8
Matthew 9:1-8
· The Lord has confided to priests the power to forgive sins.
· Just as it was hard for the people of Jesus’ time to believe He could forgive sins; it can be difficult to believe that priests can do so.
· The only thing that can bring happiness is a good relationship with Jesus.
· The meaning and purpose of confession is to help our relationship with Jesus.
· Live the act of contrition:
· Think about the pain our sins have caused Jesus.
· Be truly sorry for that pain.
· Be grateful for our friendship being restored in the sacrament of confession.
· Jesus Dulcis Memoria… ‘giving true joy to the heart’… ‘the sweetness of His presence’
