Pope St. Pius X: ⁣"To conclude this whole question of faith and its various branches, we have still to consider, Venerable Brethren, what the Modernists have to say about the development of the one and the other. First of all they lay down the general principle that in a living religion everything is subject to change, and must in fact be changed. In this way they pass to what is practically their principal doctrine, namely, evolution. To the laws of evolution everything is subject under penalty of death - dogma, Church, worship, the Books we revere as sacred, even faith itself." ⁣(Pascendi Dominici Gregis)

Music, Lyrics, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, Lead Vocals: Fr. Maximilian
Harmonies: Karin Mozina

Lyrics...
The beauty of creation sings,
That God created everything.
Intelligence was behind the design;
Each thing created, according to its kind.

CHORUS
The negation of creation
Through the illusion of evolution,
Must stop… In the Name of God.
Must stop… In the Name of God.

Under the guise of empirical science,
Darwin hides anti-Christian bias.
But in the beginning, when God spoke,
Out of nothing all things He awoke.

CHORUS

“Molecules, then monkeys to man,”
The theory boasts against God’s plan.
But we are not a herd of cattle,
Children of God we are called to battle.

CHORUS

The wonder of creation conceals,
What God in Christ clearly reveals,
That we are His people, immortal each soul,
And only in Him can we reach our goal.

CHORUS

The beauty of creation sings,
That God created everything…

⁣Jason from @tradmenpodcast397 joins Anthony and Rob to review and give their personal Catholic perspectives on the sixth episode of the new season of @TheChosenSeries. Will this be an episode Rob actually likes? Is the show growing on him? No, to both questions. Tune in to find out why.

Also, tune in to see how the show introduces us to a saint and figure in Catholic tradition in the very first scene of the show.

Avoiding Babylon was started during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. During these difficult and dark days, when most of us were isolated from family, friends, our parishes, and even the Sacraments themselves, this channel was started as a statement of standing against the tyrannical mandates that many of us were living under. Since those early days, this channel has morphed into an amazing community of friends…no…more than friends…Christian brothers and sisters…who have grown in joy and charity.

Avoiding Babylon does not criticize the hierarchy or institutional Church, especially Pope Francis. We recognize there is an unprecedented crisis in the Church, but we feel that there are other shows that address these issues that are more qualified than us. Instead, we try to remind ourselves and those who enjoy the channel that being Catholic is a joyful and exciting experience. We seek true Catholic fraternity and eutrapelia with other Catholics who, like us, are doing their best to live out their vocation with the help of God’s Grace. Above all, we try to bring humor and joy to the craziness of this fallen world, for as Hillaire Belloc has famously said:

“Wherever the Catholic sun doth shine,
There’s always laughter and good red wine.
At least I’ve always found it so.
Benedicamus Domino!”

⁣Jason from @tradmenpodcast397 joins Anthony and Rob to review and give their personal Catholic perspectives on the fifth episode of the new season of @TheChosenSeries. Will Peter be an insensitive husband again? What did Eden want to discuss with him? Will Anthony go on another chauvinist rant? (Yes, honestly, that's likely)

⁣In this episode Jim De Piante once again joins Jason to discuss the Traditional Latin Mass movement and its founding by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in the 1970's. They discuss the establishment of the Priestly Society of Saint Pius X and more of the differences between the Traditional Mass and the New Rite (Novus Ordo) including the changes to the consecration prayer, removal and changing of Feast and Holy Days, Mass readings and communion in the hand. Communion in the hand was even condemned as far back as 1969 by Pope Paul VI in his document "Memoriale Domini" which sited the numerous abuses and problems with the change in the reception of communion which is not the norm as directed by Rome. Most of the bishops who voted during Vatican II were against this abuse as well yet it has remained an acceptable norm within the Novus Ordo Church to this very day.

⁣Lawrence’s story is compelling not just because, like so many other early Christians, he displayed a tenacious willingness to suffer for his Saviour. The wit he maintained in the face of persecution is both striking and instructive. His handling of the Church’s “treasures” was both clever and profound. His defiance of the Roman authorities was both pious and charming. It goes to show that that no amount of persecution could steal from his Lawrence his hope in heaven or his humour.

⁣On August 9th, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of St. Edith Stein, otherwise known by many as St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. She made her own the words of scripture her own by taking up her cross and dying a glorious martyrdom for the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic faith. Her time on earth coincided with major political and religious turbulence, as she lived from the year 1891 to the year 1942, yet she persevered through her trials and tribulations with a deep sense of faith and a strong commitment to her vocation. Though we are living in a much different time in 2022, we can learn many lessons from her life of Virtue.

⁣On this episode we talk about prayer. And we consider, what if you have just said your last prayer and go on immediately to meet your judgment before almighty God. What will He think of you and your prayer? How close will you be to what He wants you to be? Let's expand on this idea and see what the saints have to say about the quality of good prayer.

Thanks for listening!

In this video we discuss St. Thomas Aquinas' teaching on the Sacrament of Marriage in the Summa Theologica. St. Thomas dedicated 27 questions and about 100 articles to this Sacrament and he covers a lot of topics related to Marriage. But what's interesting is the question he Doesn't ask about marriage. Hope you enjoy!
