⁣⁣This history of Catholic fasting and abstinence is narrated from the 8-part series written by Matthew Plese and incorporated into his book "The Definitive Guide to Catholic Fasting and Abstinence." He is also the author of "Understanding the Precepts of the Church," and he serves as the President of CatechismClass.com. Sadly, most of what is related here is entirely unknown by modern Catholics.
