Limiting Evil with the Saints
The basic underlying principle of morality is to do good and avoid evil. Throughout the lives of the saints we find this principle taken a step further in that they strove with God to help others do good and to avoid evil. The saints strove to limit and halt evil in the world with all their strength. Why? So that more souls would come to their senses, convert, and be marked with the sign of God, the Cross, on their brows. Often the saints would even go so far as to take the place of those failing and causing evil in the world in order to undo it and make the evil they causes cease or decrease. This is a theme present in the lives of the saints. Let us adopt it, embrace it ourselves, and we will be counted among their number!
