Compelled by Love to Leave the Highway to Hell
2nd Sunday after Pentecost: Many at this time are sadly fulfilling one of the themes song of our day, namely the one entitled: “I am on a Highway to Hell.” The Love of God found in the Most Blessed Sacrament compels us to leave this wide and often traveled highway behind and enter into the House of the Lord. Not a few on this highway, however, claim to have excuses for traveling it, chief among them are scandals in the clergy. When we look a little closer at History and power of this Sacrament of Love, we find that there are no real excuses big or strong enough to ignore the invitations of the Blessed Lord to make an exit from this evil highway and come to the great supper that has been prepared for those who respond...
