Br. John the Baptist saw a homeless man without shoes and tried to offer him his own add a charity.  I forgot that I had taken this video of the event, but it ties into my interview with Br. John, one of the last videos uploaded to this channel before this one. (Br. John didn't know I was recording this.)

Reading the body language, I'd say "politely declined" rather than "rejected", which has a more negative connotation.
