Many are concerned with what we are witnessing in the Church at this time. It seems to many that there are, as it were, two Magisteriums, two Romes, even two Churches. It appears that soon there may even be two forms of marriage available inside the Church just as there are two forms of the Mass in the Latin Rite. Some are saying a schism is just around the corner. How can we understand this strange situation and remain faithful Catholics?

After responding to the kiss of His Word, God draws us and show us things in His Church - if only we do not resist Him. Then God brings us into His wine cellar to put charity in order within us. The proper ordering of charity can be seen in the word JOY: 'J' for Jesus first, 'O' for Others second, 'Y' for Yourself last. If this ordering is not followed, suffering is allowed to increase, or even sent to us and the whole world, in order to encourage us to get the ordering right. Without this ordering we cannot take up our crosses nor truly love our fellow man. Sadly, disorder has even affected many members of the Church. Yet the saints manifest the proper order, as we see in St. Bernadette. The soul that allows God to order it, finds JOY that no earthly power of pain can dissolve. Quinquagesima Sunday: February 14th is the Feast of the great Catholic martyr and priest, St. Valentine. His persecutor, known to history as Claudius II, not only hated Catholicism, but also forbade his own Roman soldiers to marry. St. Valentine performed secret nuptial Masses for those Catholic soldiers that had found a spouse. The priest, Valentine, was arrested, beaten with clubs, and eventually beheaded. A number of men have said that life is not worth living unless there is something worth dying for. When one is truly in love with another, he is willing to suffer and even die for his beloved. Martyrdom requires a special grace from heaven. But in addition to this grace, the would be martyr ought to have trained for the moment. He ought to have prepared himself with certain exercises that formed him to be a spiritual athlete ready to face the enemy.
