⁣Blessed Alan de La Roche was a Dominican friar and priest who lived during the 15th Century. He was an eminent theologian and was famous for his sermons. Blessed Alan was chosen by the our dearest Lord and the Blessed Mother to promote once again the prayerful recitation of the Most Holy Rosary after many if not most of the faithful had neglected to pray it for more than a century. It was most appropriate that a spiritual son of St. Dominic should be chosen for such a great work. Blessed Alan began his holy mission in 1460 after a special warning from Our Lord, Who wished to spur him on to preach the Holy Rosary. The Son of God and Son of Mary literally spoke to Blessed Alan from the Sacred Host during the Sacrifice of the Mass. Our Lord asked His chosen priest: How can you crucify Me again so soon? Blessed Alan responded: What did You say, Lord? Jesus answered: You crucified Me once before by your sins and I would willingly be crucified again rather than have My Father offended by the sins you used to commit. You are crucifying Me again now because you have all the learning and understanding that you need to preach My Mother's Rosary, and you are not doing so. This terrible reproach of our Lord aimed at Blessed Alan, caused the Dominican Friar to resolve solemnly to preach the Rosary unceasingly for the rest of his earthly life. Blessed Alan did not seek to change the Rosary. He did not add novelties to the prayer or increase the number of mysteries, nor did he seek to subtract prayers or shorten existing ones. He simply reintroduced the Holy Rosary to a people that had forgotten this very powerful prayer. But the liturgical revolution that radically changed the Holy Mass of the Latin Rite would become a revolution against simple piety that would eventually infect the Rosary. We were told by liturgical reformers that the Old Mass was lacking…that it needed to be updated and reformed…that it didn’t meet the needs of modern man. We are now told that the Traditional form of the Rosary was not as Christological…not as Christ-centered as it ought to be…that it required new mysteries that would enlighten and illuminate those stuck in the Middle Ages. And so, we are led to believe that the Holy Rosary, given by our Blessed Mother to St. Dominic was somehow defective and needed to be reformed and updated. What we need is not novelties but rather a man like Blessed Alan to preach the traditional form of the Rosary. ⁣The saintly friends of the paralytic in today’s Gospel carried him on his bed of pain to Our Blessed Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Even when they met obstacles such as the crowd and the house in which His Majesty was sitting, they overcame them. The crowd represents human respect and the house material obstacles. True friends walk together toward Christ and let nothing get in the way of doing what is right for the friend. In reviewing our life, we will surely discover most of sins were committed with someone or because of someone’s example that was not really our true friend...someone not willing to walk to Christ with us. On the other hand, if we recall all the times we avoided sin, we will discover it was often because of a true friend and his example. An ancient and memorable example of this truth is given in the story of Eulogius and the Cripple. For more please visit http://www.reginaprophetarum.org & remember to say 3 Hail Marys for the priest

Sermons and lectures from the original Sensus Fidelium channel⁣People are always trying to do without religion, even pray without it. Many in these days, in fact, claim to be "spiritual" without being "religious." Secularized forms of spirituality (which is what many versions of Yoga, Zen, and Transcendental Meditation have become) can't deliver what they promise. Spirituality that can deliver is rooted in the mystery of Christ, fully human and fully divine.

⁣During the Christmas Octave, a sort of conference was presented in four sermons... These sermons cover why God became man, in Latin Cur Deus Homo.

We confess in the Creed that His Majesty, Christ Our Lord, came down from heaven propter nos homines et propter nostram salutem… on account of us men and our salvation… but the exact nature of the relationship between Christ’s coming among us and our salvation remains unspecified/undefined by the Church. This should not surprise us since the effects of original sin are manifold (wounding us in a number of ways such as ignorance, concupiscence, and malice), then we should expect the cure is most likely to be manifold as well. Fallen man must be healed; fallen man must be instructed; fallen man must offer reparation to God Whom he has offended. Thus, we find a number of ways in which the Scriptures and the Fathers/Doctors present the matter, reducible, it seems to seven ways: pedagogical, transactional/redemption, recapitulation, physical, sacrificial, satisfactory, and meritorious. Although we are mostly interested in the physical category at this time, due to the season of Christmas and some modern errors, let us nevertheless look into them all, even if only briefly. Note that there is to be expected some overlapping. In any case, St. Athanasius says about such things: “it is better to put the same thing in several ways than to run the risk of leaving something out” (de Incarnatione, ch. IV, §20).

⁣1st Sunday of Advent: We are living in a time in which the zealous priest, parent and teacher resemble the heroic Fr. Thomas Conway and Marine Captain Edward Parke. These men swam nearly continuously for a number of days seeking to preserve as many of the USS Indianapolis shipwrecked sailors as possible. This huge ship went down very quickly in late July of 1945, leaving most of the survivors to float on the open ocean for four days before being rescued. Of the 900 that escaped the ship alive, only 316 sailors lived, thanks in a large part to the efforts of these two men, who died of exhaustion in their efforts. The navy men were harassed by sharks, extreme thirst in an ocean full of toxic water, and easily gave way to hallucinations leading them to take off their lifejackets. Today, the sharks (i.e., devils) tempt us to drink deeply of the waters (i.e., the alluring draughts of electronic media flowing from the movies, internet, radio, etc... Often filled with lies, heresy, and lust-filled images) and give us many imaginings that all is well below the surface. Thus, many are tempted to drink or even take off their eternal life preserving garment (i.e., baptismal robe... being in a state of grace) to check things out. Yet, the only way to look up and lift up our heads—as Our Lord commands us to do in the Gospel as we await His Second Coming—is it to be always in a state of grace. The zealous priest, parent and teacher work hard, even unto wearing themselves out, ever trying to convince those under their care not to drink... and to keep on their eternal life preserving jackets. Let us be numbered among these good souls. For more please visit http://www.reginaprophetarum.org & remember to say 3 Hail Marys for the priest

⁣6th Sunday after Pentecost: The 17th Century mystic Ven Mother Marianna of Jesus once saw a vision of Our Lord as a crucified boy on a mountain near Quito, Ecuador. He said to her: “I can do no more to show My love for you. Ungrateful souls, who repay the great love and attentions of My Heart with contempt, sacrileges and blasphemies.” St. Ephrem explains how God provided everything to our first parents in the Garden of Eden. Yet, even after they fell, St. Ephrem explains how God continued to provide them every opportunity to repent and come back...but they resisted! With the coming of Christ Our Lord, we too have everything needed to live a life of faith, hope and charity! We have no excuses. Yet, sadly, we too resist Him! In this sermon, you will hear a number of reasons we should not resist God ...and why we should never sin. May we always hate sin in the soul as much as our bodies hate death. ⁣As the Book of Psalms states, Our Lady is the City of God. After the fall of Adam, the sinful human race was under the unjust control of Satan. The devil and his demonic armies gained victory after victory until it seemed that all the cities on earth were subject to his tyrannical rule. But there was one city that was free from his clutches. There was one city that resisted the devil’s advance...one outpost...one place of refuge...one city that always remained loyal to the Most High and was open and receptive to the coming Messiah. That Mystical City of God is the Blessed Mother. Our Lady is totally untouched by the stain of sin. She alone has fully crushed the devil under her heel. The walls of this city are impregnable. She is the inviolate one...a sealed fountain...an enclosed garden that allows access only to her Divine Spouse and to those who receive the grace to enter into the Mystical City of God and the Tower of David. Only one city...only one dwelling...attracted the Son of God and drew Him to this fallen world. Without Our Lady, the City of God, there would be no Christmas. “If the winds of temptation surge, if you run aground on the shoals of troubles, look to this star, call upon Mary! If you are tossed by the winds of pride or ambition or detraction or jealousy, look to this star, call upon Mary! If anger or greed or the allurements of the flesh dash against the boat of your mind, look to Mary! And if you are troubled by the enormity of your sins, confused by the foulness of your conscience, terrified by the horror of the Judgment, so that you begin to be swallowed up by the pit of sadness, the abyss of despair, think of Mary! In dangers, in straits, in perplexity, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let her name be always in your mouth and in your heart, and, if you would ask for and obtain the help of her prayers, do not forget the example of how she lived”—St. Bernard of Clairvaux

⁣In philosophy and theology, we often times learn about something we are interested in by looking at its opposite. This is called the via negativa. To learn more about the incredible reality of the Holy Mass, we should consider what is its most opposite which is arguably the so-called “black mass” of the Satanists. We strive to go Up in the true Mass, they strive to go down in their black mass. We have our Father above, they have their father below. We re-present the perfect prayer of His Majesty, Our Lord, on Calvary. They seek to make present again the third temptation of Christ in the desert. Willy nilly, the satanists show the world by their black masses where the true Mass and the True God can be found.

⁣In one of his letters, St. Paul states that “all things are yours...and you are Christ’s.” At Baptism, we received a participation in the Divine Nature...a share in the Son-ship of Christ. Christ became ours. The Church became ours. And yes, the earth and universe belong to us. All things are ours. The merits of the Heart of Christ...the merits of Our Lady and all the Saints...the treasury of the Church belongs to us. Knowing that we have received so much, we should give ourselves to the good Lord. We should belong to Him. St. Thomas Aquinas, the Common Doctor of the Church, defines the term Christian as “one who belongs to Christ.” What a great privilege to say to the Son of God, “I am all Thine and all I have is Thine.” But let us not have any other master than Christ. The worldly man...the sinner...has as many masters as passions. Lust says to such a man...”you are mine.” Avarice says to such a man...”you belong to me.” Let us belong to one Master...and that Master is Christ.
