As we navigate the tumultuous seas of Lent, I find myself reflecting on how often we, like Jonah, try to avoid the divine plan set before us. We examine the reluctance of Jonah to face the Ninevites, a tale that resonates with our own spiritual voyages, and the trials we encounter when faith calls us to challenging tasks.
In the quiet moments of this season, we are reminded of the importance of steadfastness in our penances and reflections. I am filled with gratitude for the companionship of each soul partaking in this shared spiritual endeavor. Through our collective meditation, we seek the serenity that Jonah found, ultimately aligning our steps with the divine will. It's with a heart brimming with thanks that I look forward to the continuation of our daily meditations, guiding and walking alongside you through the remaining days of Lent.

"This Introit resounds with incomparable brilliance and melody. Gregorian chant rarely achieves such enthusiasm. The words contain an oracle from the Book of Wisdom (1:7), which is fulfilled today. It is the divine Spirit pouring out upon the world, and as a guarantee of His presence, giving to the holy Apostles the knowledge of the Word from which He is the source." ~ Dom Prosper Gueranger.

Written by St Thomas Aquinas in the 13th century, probably in the wake of the declaration of the feast of Corpus Christi, the "Adoro te devote" was not originally intended for any liturgical use but most likely used as a private prayer for Thomas' daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, but was later incorporated into the Roman Missal of 1570 after the Council of Trent. St Thomas also composed the Sequence "Lauda Sion", and the hymns "Pange Lingua", "Sacris Solemniis" and "Verbum Supernum".

The "Alma Redemptoris Mater" is one of the four Marian Antiphons sung at the end of the liturgy of the hours. Its author is believed to be Hermannus Contractus ("Herman the Lame"; 1013-1054). It is traditionally sung after the recitation of Compline from the first Sunday of Advent until the Feast of Candlemas or Feast of the Purification of the Virgin (2 February)
Alma Redemptoris Mater, quæ pervia cæli
Porta manes, et stella maris, succurre cadenti,
Surgere qui curat, populo: tu quæ genuisti,
Natura mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem
Virgo prius prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore
Sumens illud Ave, peccatorum miserere.
Loving Mother of the Redeemer,
who remains the accessible Gateway of Heaven,
and Star of the Sea,
Give aid to a falling people
that strives to rise;
O Thou who begot thy holy Creator,
while all nature marvelled,
Virgin before and after
receiving that "Ave" from the mouth of Gabriel,
have mercy on sinners.

The Fatima Center’s mission is to ensure that the entire Message of Fatima is fully and widely known, accurately understood, and properly acted upon so that Our Lady’s purpose in coming to Fatima – the salvation of souls and the prevention of catastrophic chastisements – may be realized.
The Fatima Center has been faithful to this mission since its founding in 1978 by Fr. Nicholas Gruner († 2015).
