⁣Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI died this morning at 9:24am in Rome. May he, through the mercy of God rest in peace and may he pray for us, the pilgrim Church, as we make our way towards the finish line.

You came from afar for a census, they say,
With your virgin bride and a Child on the way.
To Bethlehem come, the “House of Bread,”
The City of David, but no room, no bed.
Sent to a cave, a stall for some beasts.
There you went to prepare the King’s feast.
Tell us dear Joseph, what did you see?
An ox, an ass, and a manger of feed.

CHORUS:
Jesus, Messiah, Emmanuel! Glory to the God of Israel!
Gloria in excelsis Deo, Gloria in altissimis,
Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis!

Tell us dear Joseph, how could this be?
That God sent His Son setting us free,
But no one would come, no one would care,
No one adore, no one be there?
Yet the birth of the Babe brings joy to the land.
The birth of the Savior, revealing God’s plan.
And Angels proclaim, they sing to the Lord.
Shepherds make haste, they come and adore.

CHORUS

He lay in a manger that holy night.
On Christmas Eve – all sorrows took flight.
And piercing the dark – a glowing new star!
And kings in wonder, they came from afar.

CHORUS

This is a popular Spanish hymn which one of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate turned into a hymn in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This rendition is on my album "Memorare": ⁣https://fathermaxmusic.com/alb....um/1455977/memorare-

Lyrics...
I said, “Lord when will I have the faith,
To walk on water, to walk on water.”
He said, “Child what do you think you are doing now?
You walk on water. You’re walking on water…

CHORUS:
Whenever you choose to follow Me,
When you believe, oh, but you cannot see,
You walk by faith and not by sight, oh,
You walk on water. You’re walking on water.
You walk on water. You’re walking on water.

I said, “Lord, I believe help my unbelief,
And I’ll walk on water, yeah I’ll walk on water.
He said, “My child you must believe in Me,
And the One who sent Me, the One who sent Me…

CHORUS

So I begin to walk across that sea,
To walk on water, to walk on the water.
But storms, waves and winds they come at me,
And I sink in the water, oh no! I’m sinking in water…

I said, “Lord, my Lord please save me.
I’m sinking in the water, sinking in water!”
He said, “Child never doubt. You can trust in Me,
And you’ll walk on water. You’re walking on water…

CHORUS

⁣Psalm 99 (100) says that we must "serve the Lord in gladness" (Servite Domino in laetitia). This video was created by Opus Joyous Studios (opusjoyous.com) during the period when I was building a new Hermitage with the help of friends and benefactors. Both the song and the animation will bring joy and a smile.

⁣This short reflection on purity of heart was posted on my Instagram account as a prelude to the song "Blessed Are the Pure of Heart". The reflection was so popular on Instagram that I thought I'd post it here as well. Jesus tells us that a condition for seeing God (for Heaven) is purity of heart - we need purity of heart! This message is SO important today with the moral plague of internet pornography, sex trafficking, gender confusion and sexual perversion.

In Italy in 2013, just before leaving the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate, I had the privilege of singing and recording Franck's "Panis Angelicus" with Ensemble Mariposas and the Basilica Choir of San Nicola of Tolentino. This track is found on my album "Excitabo Auroram".

A song for those in the trenches of the spiritual battle. Title track from the album "A Battle Cry Goes Out"
Music & Lyrics: Fr. Maximilian M. Dean
Bass, Drums, Guitars, Keyboard, Lead Vocals: Fr. Maximilian M. Dean
Backing Vocals: Karin Mozina
Video Production: Coronation Media

LYRICS:
A cry goes out from the King’s throne.
Triumphal shout making things known.
The trumpet blasts, the battle begins.
Hell’s gates are smashed, my King He wins.

CHORUS:
Christ our King conquers everything.
The battle of the King – war is raging.
Christ our King, He’s dominating.
Will you fight for our Warrior King?

The King of kings with His Queen Mother.
The Lord of lords our Friend and Brother,
With Angels and Saints on He goes,
To victory against the infernal foe.

CHORUS

When all seems a loss, nailed to a tree,
His death on the Cross means victory.
Devil and sin and death are dethroned.
Christ risen from the dead - our King enthroned.

CHORUS

⁣The traditional Discalced Carmelite Nuns in Fairfield, PA, are building a monastery to last a thousand years. Inspired by their Carmelite roots in Spain and the colonial architectural style of their local surroundings in Gettysburg, PA, the Nuns have chosen to use only the most traditional methods of stone laying and timber framing. Their goal is to provide a warm and loving home for our Beloved Lord, a place to honor and serve Him all the days of their lives.

Please consider supporting them and their project. Visit https://www.fairfieldcarmelites.org to learn more!

⁣A little drive through my "neighborhood" on Shadowfax - my motor scooter: Apple orchard to the left, an eagle flew over at about 15 seconds, I had to slow down for a deer at about 47 seconds, and after the verse referencing the devil like a lion devouring I had to wait for a huge construction dump truck (a rare sight in my neck of the woods). A blues feel tune with the important message not to dwell on your past sins... but to focus on the road ahead and not turn back!!!
