⁣On Bl Maria de Agreda who brought the Catholic faith to the North American indians in the New Mexico area in the early 1600s. This is something the history books in schools don't speak off.

⁣St. Gertude the Great (1256-1302) was a German Benedictine mystic nun. She is the only female saint honored with the title “the Great.” She had her first vision of Christ when she was twenty and our Lord appeared to her many times. Once He revealed to her: “Whoever in his trials and adversities, units himself with My sufferings and strives to imitate my patience and resignation will truly repose on My Heart and participate in all the merits of My life.” She meditated much on the passion, had a tender love for Our Lady, and was very devoted to the Holy Souls. Three of the most outstanding graces she received were [1] the sacred stigmata, [2] a transverebration, and [3] the interchange of Christ’s heart with hers. ⁣Michael Davies gives a biography of the illustrious English convert John Henry Newman. Newman started the Tractarian Movement, later referred to as the Oxford Movement, which began a tide of English conversions to the True Faith. John Henry Newman's whole work involved a study of the way in which the unchanging Truth and developing knowledge interacted. Michael Davies discusses Newman's life and achievement, illustrating how he provides a model for serious, pious Catholic work in the contemporary world which is modern and not modernist. Taken from: The Church of Eugenio Pacelli - 2000 VonHildebrand Institute. http://www.keepthefaith.org for many many more talks

⁣Feast of All Souls. It is Catholic dogma (de fide) that “the living faithful can come to the assistance of the souls in Purgatory by their intercessions or suffrages.” Throughout the month of November, and all your life, make a greater effort to offer suffrages for the holy souls, especially the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. St. Robert Bellarmine relates the life of St. Christine the Admirable of Belgium. Upon death, she confused Purgatory for Hell. God allowed her to return to life, and suffer unimaginable penances, that she might offer suffrages for the poor souls in Purgatory and for the conversion of sinners.
